First, I have to start off with if you use the right colour for lighting, it makes an effect. You did this perfectly! I don't quite get the concept at first, but after a little while I did <3 Lovely piece of work. One of my favourite aspects of this piece is the sky and rain - the colour and you did them both perfectly. I know someone who does photomanipulations (and they aren't bad at it) and she'd probably agree this was good.
Some people would disagree because of the darker side and colours - but person preference I guess *shrug*.
All in all a nice work, the mood of the image looks sad and scarry. i dont know how i would feel in his position. I realy prefer the colorizing and the idea of the person on a old rock of maybe the mayas. The people in the water i dont understand but it gives the watcher a own think to it like maybe the man on that rock is a lord or else and he was on a ship with his company and they all died he is the only once alive and is looking back and asking his self how could that happen?. The lightning of the sky and water makes it mysterious and more sad.
This reminds me very much of a description from Dante's "Inferno". The souls of some of the damned are submerged just under the surface and reach out for help from anyone passing above. Wonderful work
